Hi, I'm Umang Dokey. Senior Creative Designer with over twelve years of experience in print, digital, web & motion. With so much crossover happening between these fields, I don't believe in confining myself to just one aspect of design.

Senior Creative Designer
Lewis Communications Ltd – 2015 - present
2015 - Promoted to a Senior Creative Designer role after successfully expanding agency offering in design, web and animation.
2016 - 2018 I experimented with a lot of different technologies ranging from Three.js, Unity, Unreal and building prototypes for AR/VR. So have a good overall knowledge of latest technologies.
2018 - Took a break from work for 3 months.
2019 - Back to work and got back into my work routine slowly.
2020 - 2021 - My role evolved into a mix of couple of different job roles based on the projects. Creative lead on some projects and work with a team of creatives on larger projects.
Creative Designer
Lewis Communications Ltd – 2012 - 2015
As a mid-weight designer and my role expanded into branding, web and motion design. HTML5 interactive visualisations were a big part of my job and I gained knowledge of UX and UI design during this phase of my career.
Junior New Media Designer
Lewis Communications Ltd – 2010 - 2012
In the early days at this PR agency, I was responsible for working on predominantly print, video and basic web projects. Flash interactive animations were an important aspect back in those days.

I did a month internship at a small social media agency. Even though it was unpaid I learned a lot and it was definitely a good starting point for me.
Freelance
2009 – 2010
Worked on a few product designs ranging from iPad case designs to some small branding projects. Still haven't got the payments for these. :/
Masters in Design
School of Design, Northumbria University 2008 – 2009
Studying at Newcastle's Northumbria University I secured a distinction for my dissertation. My course ranged from learning about Industrial Design, Interaction Design (UX/UI) for electronic products to Marketing and Business plan.
Bachelor of Fine Arts (Commercial Art)
Sir J.J. School of Applied Art, Mumbai 2004 – 2008
A four year course taught me the basics of advertising, typography, graphic design, animation, 3D modelling. Print, Digital, Web & Motion.
High School
2000 - 2004
Learned HTML/C++ at school and hand coded my first website back then. Learned Flash and created my first animation in Flash. Dont remember C++ programming language anymore. :)
